Johnny Bernard Jr, MD, DABR
Johnny Bernard Jr, MD, DABR, is your local board certified Radiation Oncologist, specializing in treating cancer with radiation. He has resided in Palm Coast since 2014, and is committed to improving the health of our community. He is originally from Tennessee, graduating salutatorian from his high school before becoming the first in his family to attend college, where he graduated Summa cum laude in Biology from the University of TN Chattanooga. He attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center for medical school and internal medicine internship. While in medical school, he joined the United States Army. Dr. Bernard completed residency training in radiation oncology at the internationally renowned Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, where he served as Chief Resident and attained the academic rank of Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology. He then served as a Radiation Oncologist for the Army at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Major. Dr. Bernard served as Senior Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He moved to Palm Coast in 2014 and worked for the Advent Health Hospital System and as a contractor for Florida Cancer Specialists radiation centers. He has a particular interest in treating skin cancer, and attained an additional certification in skin cancer medicine. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters outside of work, and is excited to bring another option for treating skin cancer to Palm Coast.
